It was a young crowd that watched the Silver Hawks play at the Cove Thursday morning.
That's because a couple thousand students from local schools took a field trip to the Cove to catch some morning baseball.
The event was part of the Silver Hawk's annual School Days at the Cove event.
A group of students got to sing the National Anthem and participate in between-innings promotions.
The field trip was educational as well.
"All the teachers get an educational packet so they can do some prep work in the classroom but when they come out here they can go to the concession stand and figure out some math problems with prices, figuring out a batting average so we try to incorporate some fun educational opportunities into the game,” explains Amy Hill, Director of Sales and Marketing.
The Silver Hawks went on to win the game 10-8, with the help of a Victor Esteves grand slam.
Friday is the first night of Friday Night Fireworks at the Cove.
The Silver Hawks take on the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Friday at 7pm, and the fireworks will start after the game.
