New developments took place Thursday in the coaching controversy at John Adams High School.
Frank Amato will be the head football coach, at least for the next season.
Sources tell NewsCenter 16 offensive coordinator Frank Amato will be named as interim head coach for the next year as early as Friday. That means the school board doesn't have to vote.
This comes after board member Roger Parent issued a statement Wednesday requesting a vote on Amato's hiring.
As we've been telling you, a search committee made up of assistant coaches, parents, and even superintendent Jim Kapsa, unanimously recommended Amato as head coach.
Then, some board members decided the selection process was unfair.
Amato is a long time area coach who led St. Joe to a state championship in 1995.
