Irish Icers have no trouble with Nebraska Omaha in playoff debut

After a two-week respite, the 2nd-ranked Irish hockey team wasted little time in notching its first playoff win of the season. The final on Friday at the Joyce Center was 5-0.

It took two minutes to shake off any rust as Calle Ridderwall scored at 2:01 with an unassisted goal.

Ben Ryan made it 2-0 while the third goal was scored by rookie Billy Maday. Ryan Thang returned to the lineup and scored the fourth goal for the Irish.

Game two will be played Saturday at the Joyce Center as the puck drops at 7:05
