A day after Skylar Diggins was named the National Player of the Year, Michiana's 2nd best player received a major award of her own.
Benton Harbor's Destiny Williams was named the Gatorade Michigan girls basketball player of the year on Thursday.
The Illinois-bound senior forward has been amazing this season, averaging 30 points, 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4.5 blocks a game in Michigan's highest classification.
She is considered among the 15 best players in the country.
On Thursday night, Williams scored 30 points to lead Benton Harbor to a regional championship win over Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central. They will next face East Lansing Tuesday night in the state quarterfinals.
Williams and Diggins will both play in the McDonald's All-American game on April 1st.
