Irish sophomore wide receiver Golden Tate has cemented himself into Notre Dame record book.
Wednesday in Honolulu, Tate leaped to the top of two Irish bowl record lists with an outstanding performance in a 49-21 win over Hawaii in the Hawaii Bowl.
He now has the most touchdowns for a receiver (3) and most yards for a receiver (177) by any player in Irish bowl history.
But it was a play that was called back due to penalty that showcased Tate's abilities best.
With the game out of reach in the 3rd, Tate caught a punt--was hit, went backwards---was hit again, went backwards---was hit a 3rd time, went backwards---and then he broke off of 65 yards for a touchdown.
The play was called back due to a roughing the punter penalty, however.
