Two of the area's best coaches battled it out at Concord Friday night as Riley Mark Johnson matched wits with new Minutemen head coach Steve Austin.

Led by Larry King, Riley prevailed 64-56.

The Wildcats are now 4-1. Concord drops to 3-1.
--------
At Warsaw, the undefeated Tigers honored late Sgt. Terry Polston before the game and then honored him again with a big win.

In a battle of unbeatens, sophomore Nic Moore led Warsaw to a 72-60 win over Rochester.

The Tigers were up six at the half. Brody Schoen hit a 3-pointer in the 4th quarter to pull the Zebras within three.

But Warsaw got a big putback from Justin Clemens to keep the lead.
-------
Next up for the Tigers, former head coach Al Rhodes and Penn.

The Kingsmen remained undefeated with 57-40 win over Marian at the Palace in the NIC opener.

Tommy Kurth still hasn't found his jersey, but wearing a different one every night hasn't affected his play on the court.

The Valpo bound guard was excellent again for the Kingsmen.

Penn will head to Warsaw Saturday night.
-------
Elsewhere in the NIC, Brad Cameron scored 21 points to lead host Clay to a 44-40 win over Adams.

The Colonials led 22-20 at the half and the two teams had the exact same score in the 2nd half.

Adams was without four players, including two starters for the game. The players were suspended for the game for violating school rules.

Landon Booker led the Eagles with 12 points.

Clay is now 3-1. Adams is 1-3.
--------
At St. Joe, the Indians sunk by Elkhart Central 50-49.

St. Joe trailed after one quarter, but had a big 2nd to going into halftime with a six point lead.

The Indians are 2-1. Central is 0-4.
-------
In girls hoops action, Skylar Diggins returned after missing a game due to the flu and paced Washington to a 79-30 home win over Mishawaka.

Diggins scored 28 points for the Panthers.
