No Luke. No Problem--- at least not after the first few minutes.
Playing without All-American Luke Harangody (pneumonia), 8th-ranked Notre Dame overcame a sluggish start to roll over Furman 93-61 to win a school record 39th straight home game.
The Irish passed the record of 38 consecutive home wins set back in 1948 at Notre Dame Fieldhouse.
Kyle McAlarney scored 32 points on nine 3-pointers to lead the Irish. K-Mac had 39 pts and a school record ten 3's Wednesday in a 15-point loss to top-ranked North Carolina in the finals of the Maui Invitational.
McAlarney becomes the first Irish player since 2000 to score more than 30 points in two straight games.
The Irish are 5-1.
Harangody was not in attendance for the game, still resting at his parents' home in nearby Schererville, Indiana. He had planned to attend the game but was not up for it.
There is still no timetable for his return.
Ryan Ayers scored a career-high 19 points and Tory Jackson added 17 for Notre Dame in the win.
The Irish will host South Dakota Tuesday night at 7:30 at the Joyce Center.
