The stage was set for an athletic event at Coveleski Stadium Saturday night. It wasn't baseball, and it certainly wasn't as glamorous as the Olympics.
It was the tenth annual Clash at the Cove.
Hundreds of people came out to see two professional matches.
And if you looked closely at the ring, you may have recognized a former governor officiating the title match.
"A lot of instinct is what's going to take over. My goal is to not get hurt, hope nobody throws me into the fifth row, and get out of there alive," joked Joe Kernan.
The former Notre Dame catcher also took the field as a pro ball player this year.
Kernan made his professional debut with the Silver Hawks against the Irish.
He says that gig paid about the same as this one -- about a buck!
