Fans looking to get a sneak peek of the 2008 Notre Dame football team are invited to attend Fan Appreciation Day on Sunday, Aug. 10 inside Notre Dame Stadium. The practice starts at 2:30 p.m. and lasts until 5:30 p.m. and is free to everyone in attendance.

Led by head coach Charlie Weis, the Irish coaching staff will run the
football team through its only public practice for three hours, weather
permitting. All fans must enter through Gate D at Notre Dame Stadium.

Gate D will open at 2:00 p.m. and seating is on a first come, first served basis in the lower bowl on the west side of the Stadium. Per NCAA regulations, the team will not be in full pads because it is the third practice of the season. Instead, the Irish will practice in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts.

Stadium concession stands will not be open but fans will be allowed to enter with non-alcoholic beverages in plastic containers. Notre Dame ushers will be present at the gates and throughout the Stadium and will remove any patrons who bring in alcoholic beverages or glass containers. Restrooms will be open in the lower bowl of Notre Dame Stadium.

Autographs and/or photos with the players or coaches will not be available prior to, during or following practice. Fans are encouraged to park in the lots located just south of the Stadium. Tailgating prior to and following practice will not be permitted. If weather forces the team to practice inside, the event will not be rescheduled.

Kimberly, learn to proof read! I do not think any ND fans can understand what "th" means. Go Back and cook some more bread for the kids!

Hey, Rock, thanks for coming back, but what's a dormer? I love it when haters can't even get an insult right. S, those who have been on the posts more than a week know my affiliation with ND. "Dork?" Really? Kimberly- it's been a while! Less than 4 weeks... another sell-out... GO IRISH!

No autographs? No tailgating? No concessions? Why not? How hard would it be to open up a couple of stands? And why no autographs, at least for kids? At least it isn't sponsored by Chick Fil A or something. Sure sounds like fun to me.

Ah football season is almost upon us and the haters are as vigilant as ever. Don't worry, The players will take the field and prove they are worthy of a winning season. Th haters will cry foul as they always do. The true Irish fans will be smiling that Cheshire grin. Bring on the season and a let the battle of the gridiron begin!

ND Fan, get of the crack, ND football sucks, thus less attention, thus less advertising dollars. Go Back to school dormer and get a job!

ND fan, you thanking them on behalf of the team or do you actually benefit from those dollars? Typical ND dork. Wants to pretend like he is part of the program, but has absolutely nothing to do with it. Probably never attneded the school either!

I love how all the haters who claim not to care (ROCK) still get on WNDU, look at the headline, open the link, (maybe) read the article, and THEN take the time to comment about how they DON'T care. Thanks for the post, thus the attention, thus the advertising dollars. GO IRISH!

As a father of two young boys that are huge ND fans, I appreciate ND opening up practice...even if it is just one. How any of you can complain about a free event is beyond me, especially when gas and grocery prices are skyrocketing. I may not be able to afford season tickets but I can afford a free afternoon in ND stadium to let my boys watch their heroes. I appreciate it and hope to go every year.

It's so easy to pick on Notre Dame because of the sterotype. I know alot of the players and I hope they kick ass this year. If they can over come the bullying ways of the head coach. If he could stop tearing them down and start being a teacher they'd be ok. I want them to win because they can, they have the talent, it's the motivator thats not doing his job. So win, do it for yourselfs and your self pride. GO N.D.

This is great for fans that cannot attend the games because the ticket prices are so high. I can imagine St. Michael's Laundry will have some overtime that day from all the sweating that will happen on the field. Let's make sure the Director of Laundry earns his $100,000/year!!

Notre Dame football, Charlie and his team are losers. What silly people would spend time watching losers practice?

Posted by: Todd Location: Sought Bend on Aug 1, 2008 at 05:34 PM
More like sorry we sucked so bad last year...please come back and spend your money.

Posted by: Jim Location: Mishawaka on Aug 1, 2008 at 05:25 PM
Wow big deal, how about going back to when the kids could actually talk to the players and get autographs ! Oh, that's right cheap Notre Dame would probably want to charge the little ones $$ to do that.

Anonymous, They had one last year too so you are WRONG! Notre Dame may be 40th in the nation but they will improve if they have the right players and use the right moves on the field too.

Posted by: Anonymous on Aug 1, 2008 at 03:51 PM
