Johnson on the Pole; Newman to start 3rd at Brickyard

South Bend's Ryan Newman always seems to post one of the best times during qualifying.

Saturday was no exception as Newman earned the 3rd position for Sunday's All-State 400 at the Brickyard.

Defending Sprint Cup champion Jimmie Johnson will be on the poll. Mark Martin will start 2nd.

4-time Brickyard champion Jeff Gordon, looking for his 5th win at Indy and first of the season, will start 5th.

Tony Stewart, who has won 2 of the last 3 races at the Brickyard, will begin in the 14th position.

The green flag for the All-State 400 at the Brickyard drops at approximately 2:17 pm on Sunday afternoon at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
