National signing day a month from today and the Irish picked up a big commitment,
Five-foot-nine, 190 pound Tarean Folston from Cocoa, Florida, picked the Irish over Florida State and Oregon. He had over 30 offers. Folston teams with verbal commitment from Greg Bryant to give Notre Dame a great 1-2 punch at running back.
The Irish are among the nation’s top five in terms of recruiting for 2013, squarely among Alabama, Michigan, USC, and Florida, all part of the plan in getting the right kind of guy
“You always want to be around winners,” said Tony Alford, “high school students want to be around winners in college, and we as coaches want to get guys who understand how to win, and have won, and understand the work to win.”
Alford talked about what it takes to make it on the team, “That’s what we preach from day one-you come to work every single day, but it’s also fun when you’re having success.”
