After a semester at Ivy Tech due to personal reasons, nose tackle Pat Kuntz is returning to Notre Dame. He will be eligible to play for the Irish in the fall after not participating in spring practice.

He was scheduled to start summer school on Tuesday.

Kuntz was one of the few bright spots on a 3-9 Irish football team last year. Despite an undersized frame for the position, he had a breakout season at nose tackle leading the Irish with 9 pass deflections.

Kuntz' 2007 season ended due to multiple injuries, causing him to miss the final two games of the year.

He has two years of eligibility left.
