Notre Dame Deputy Athletic Director Missy Conboy has been named the Interim Athletic Director of the University, according to a statement released by the University Saturday.
Conboy is taking over the position for Kevin White, who as Newscenter 16 first reported Friday, left the University to become the Athletic Director at Duke.
There is no timetable on a full-time replacement being named.
"While there is no specific time line for identifying a successor, I can assure all Irish fans that our process will be thorough and that we will take the foundation currently in place and build upon it to achieve even greater success," University President Father John Jenkins said in a statement.
Conboy is a former Irish basketball player who has worked in the University Athletic Department for more than 20 years.
"Missy has vast experience in the areas of personnel, compliance and sports administration, and I look forward to working closely with her during this time of transition," Father Jenkins said.
