Memphis and Kansas to meet for NCAA title
Easy time for both the Tigers and Jayhawks in semi-finals Reporter: Jeff Jeffers |

Both Memphis and Kansas ran away and hid from their opponents on Saturday and will play for the big trophy, the NCAA Mens Basketball Championship.
In game one in San Antonio, the Tigers were relentless against a UCLA team that just could not keep up with the Memphis backcourt tandem of Chris Douglas-Roberts and Derrick Rose. The duo combined for 53 points to send Memphis to their second title game. The first was in 1973 when, then Memphis State, lost to Bill Walton and the UCLA Bruiins in St. Louis. The final on Saturday was 78-63.
In game two, Kansas unleashed a blitzkreig of breaks and bombs that left top-seed North Carolina dazed and confused. At one point in the first half, the Jayhawks had a 26-point lead. The Tarheels (much like UCLA) just could not handle the opposing guards. Sherron Colllins and Brandon Rush continually beat UNC up and down the floor and their teammates helped to shoot 70 per cent from the field in the first half. The final was 84-66.
