Irish stun New Hampshire in NCAA hockey

In a shocker, the Irish hockey team seized the momentum in the first period and routed top-seed New Hampshire in the NCAA regional in Colorado Springs. The final was 7-3.

Christian Hanson scored to break a 2-2 tie in the second period. Dan Kissel made it 4-2 and the rout was on in the Springs. Notre Dame scored a pair of empty netters to account for the final.

The Wildcats won the Hockey East title and were ranked in the top five in the nation.

If the Irish can win on Saturday, ND will advance to the Frozen Four which will be played in Denver.
