Charlie Weis probably doesn't want to talk too much about his third season at Notre Dame as the Irish head football coach. It was a nightmare with a 3-9 record. But the first step toward getting better and improving on that begins Wednesday as spring drills begin.

There won't be many visible answers to the questions on the collective mind of Irish fans. Spring practice is a shadow of what used to be a period of time where a team could start building an identity for the fall. Now it's little more than a chance to lay a few layers of foundation before summer practice thanks to the limited contact prescribed by the NCAA.

Weis will address the media at noon and there will be complete coverage on NewsCenter 16 and at wndu.com

I knew what you were saying RIF. Just had to give you a hard time.

Posted by: Rabid Irish Fan Location: Standing Tall on Apr 7, 2008 at 10:14 AM
Like I said, did you bother now to read all of them and maybe see why we pop off sometimes? And you should try speaking for yourself, the other Anti-ND Haters you speak of are not usually of the capacity to make an informed post. Being here long enough I have read many of your posts, I would not lump yourself into that category. You must see that many of these people provoke me and get fired back at due to thier own comments. I could leave it alone, but, that sure takes the fun out of it. Atleast you have the sense to make comments without "ND Sucks" as your main point of argument, those are the ones we are addressing, not you. Also, why are you "anti-ND" are you also "anti-any other team that is not Purdue?" If you are soley "Anti-ND" then N, I hate to tell you this, but, that is exactly what a hater is.

Posted by: N on Apr 6, 2008 at 09:50 AM
I read the Purdue story. I dont have to comment on every article I read. Hell, I wasnt even going to comment on this story until I read all of the comments from other people and decided to speak up for fellow Anti-ND people like myself who get labeled Haters simply cause we dont like the team.

Posted by: Rabid Irish Fan Location: Standing Tall on Apr 5, 2008 at 09:49 AM
N, one thing before I go, you say your a Purdue fan right? Well, why is it on this web site you always choose to go to ND related stories? If you would notice there is a story about Purdue football on the site now, funny how I am the only one with a comment on the story. Where are you at, oh, paying attention to Notre Dame, I see.

Posted by: Rabid Irish Fan Location: Standing Tall on Apr 5, 2008 at 09:45 AM
Anon don't you have some scrap metal to steal? Get to it your crack pipe is calling you. Your comments are as painful as a tickle and a pleasue in thier brevity. Thanks for continuing to make all of the ND haters look so good. I guess making little hit and run comments make you feel like a man, huh? Pretty lame anon, come strong or go home, you post a different variation of that insult every time. Typical. Kimberley, I meant no insult to you, I just figured Greg and them would like to join you in the kitchen, where they say you belong, they can teach you to bake doo doo bird hater brownies and you can teach them manners and a lesson in football, you know more about it than them it appears. Like I said I am taking a week off, finish out any loose ends today and then watch for a week and get some ammo built up, they toss it around like unwanted pennies.

I'm telling you. RIF either got ignored by his mommy or gets ignored by his wife and kids now. This is how he feels like a man. He sounds like a complete loon!

Posted by: Kimberly Location: South Bend on Apr 4, 2008 at 04:24 PM
Now wait a minute RIF, you called them ladies as an insult, where does that put me then?... lol. I do have to agree with RIf Greg, you did level the first insults in this on going argument. I have not forgotten the insult you leveled at me in the other blog.....something about "why don't you stick to doing what you do best.....staying in the kitchen and talking to the girls while the guys watch football." I, along with ND Fan and RIF are tired of being bashed for being fans of ND. Like ND Fan said so well, we have been the first to say that the team has suffered it's hard times last year and never did any of us state we were going to be the best this year. We are just remaining optimistic for this season. Why should we be bashed for doing what every football fan......wait........ sports fan does?

Posted by: ND Fan Location: ND on Apr 4, 2008 at 12:57 PM
My point is that you can bash our team all you want, but don't expect us not to lash out at you in return. You stating which team you pull for just evens the playing field. Now we can debate team vs team instead of listening to "ND Sucks, so there!" comments. you all say we are arrogant, which if you would pay any attention and actually see what we are saying, you would not say that. We support our team, but we were the FIRST to say that ND was terrible last year, will not be "the best" this year, and that Charlie was brought down a notch. So get over yourselves and stop trying to beat a dead horse- see the big picture and the ND football program for what it's worth- the program with the biggest fan base and a storied tradition. N- I have to say I like the PSU's mascot and colors better than PU's. That's all the bashing I have for you- sorry to disappoint.

One more thing Greg, clear this up for me, "Anyone who couldn't come up with anything smart to say would dwell on a minor typo and exploit it for all they can. Even if the other party already admitted to the mistake". I wonder Greg, you say you already admitted to the mistake, so why would you go ahead and post it, knowing it had an error? That is the reason I don't belive you, you come up with an excuse for everything you do, even after admitting you knew it wrong and posted it anyway, less than belivable. Why don't you and the other haters come to the Blue Gold game and we will teach you what it means to me Die Hard Fans, I will buy you the ticket too. See you ladies in a weeks time, I will be watching so make sure you keep giving me ammo to throw back at you. They ought to just make a "RIF's Corner" page for all of you haters, I can take you all on and the other people won't have to listen to your junk. I would do it just for fun, my job pays enough.

Posted by: Rabid Irish Fan Location: Standing Tall on Apr 4, 2008 at 09:52 AM
And another thing for you Greg, I figured that would be your response, just like you could photo copy a PSU Degree, like I said, your done, beat, it's over, let it go. Also, N, it really bothers me that you come in and basicaly call me a bully and less than a man, but, you took no time to see where this all began, that, is pathetic and only supports everything I say about hater, oops, I mean anti-ND fans, don't want to offend. I mean it's OK for you all to spew hateful comments and insults, but, Notre Dame fans can't do it too. You know, Greg, your wrong again "per usual" it's 3 kids and I'm just good at what I do so I have time to do this. Minor typo, you mean constant errors? I am taking a week off from the boards, I bet you won't be around when I come back. PS N, if you want to make an anti-ND comment that is genuine and contains fact, I am all for it, that is what I want, not little girlie arguments from clowns like anon and Greg.

Posted by: Rabid Irish Fan Location: Standing Tall on Apr 4, 2008 at 09:42 AM
Who cares what yor sick of N, if you had a clue you might see that Greg is the one who started by calling me and another Wannabe ND fans who have no affilitation to the school or did not go there. I don't care if you like Purdue, I never go to another teams site and rip thier fans. Am also am a Die Hard Cubs' Fan have been for aver 20 years, when I saw them play the cards in 06 at Wrigley (and they beat the cards) I had a couple of thier fans running thier mouths, I put them in check to. I don't get why you think I should let people be when they trash my team, if they had a valid point I would only debate it. But, when they spew BS at us and it's all just bashing, I fire back. And I want to know what team they pull for because when as for example Greg said PSU that made me wonder how he has the stones to bash ND Football when his squad is bad too. It is funny, all I ever hear is that if you did not go to ND you should not be a big fan. But, when I say the same, you all cry foul!!

Posted by: N on Apr 4, 2008 at 07:53 AM
And another thing, while I'm thinking about it. RIF, I am just really sick of hearing your thoughts and your negative attitude. Any time someone says something bad about ND you jump down their throats, labeling them a Hater and demanding to know what team they support, so that you can try to humiliate them by making fun of the fact that they dont support ND. Whats the matter with you? Cant handle it when someone criticizes your precious football team? As a Die-hard Cub fan I field nothing but unwanted flack from anti-Cub fans, but I never lash out at others and try and belittle them simply because they dont support my team. Im a grown man, and carry myself like one. I can deal with it when someone doesnt like the team I support and chooses to criticize them. You should as well. You need to grow up. And by the way, in football, I support the Purdue Boilermakers. Let the trashing of that statement begin.

Posted by: N on Apr 4, 2008 at 07:49 AM
Lemme try and get RIF's logic correct here: He calls Greg out repeatedly about who his favorite sports team is. Greg finally gives in and says Penn State, only to be berated and made to look like a fool because he may not have gone there? Jeez, RIF, I didnt realize you could only root for your Alma Matter. So what if Greg didnt go to Penn State, he has a right to support whichever team he wants. I've never played for the Chicago Cubs yet I wake up every day, put on some red white or blue and cheer my team on. It's called loyalty, no matter the cost. Grow up. Stop being so high and mighty simply because you support ND. That doesnt make you better than anyone. If anything it makes you worse simply because you cant understand how any one could support any team not named Notre Dame. Its pathetic. You're pathetic.

Posted by: Greg Location: SB on Apr 3, 2008 at 09:36 PM
I dont blame you, RIF. Anyone who couldn't come up with anything smart to say would dwell on a minor typo and exploit it for all they can. Even if the other party already admitted to the mistake...but yeah big man! Yeah, I'll give you my email so you can drive to some house and take a picture. I would think that someone with a wife, two kids, and a big important job would have better things to do. Or at least be a little busier. But, yeah, I'm the liar. What a joke.

Posted by: Kimberly Location: South Bend on Apr 3, 2008 at 09:36 PM
Well hello ND Fan, welcome back to the menagerie! I was starting to miss you. Random Observer, the Penn state conversation is a carry over from another blog(Pro-day for NFL prospects at ND) It is a long story and it is better for you to just read those blogs then to try to explain it all. Actually we won the Cotton Bowl against Texas A&M in 1993, a bit less than your 20 year statement. Granted, ND has not been successful since then in the bowl games, loosing the last 10 years.......quite sad to say the least. However I still love the Irish! I have met some very arrogant P.S.U fans actually. You would be totally naive to think that any school would not have it's share of arrogant fans........but then again, is it really arrogance or just plain over zealousness?

Posted by: Rabid Irish Fan Location: Standing Tall on Apr 3, 2008 at 05:10 PM
Sure, typo, I bet. The way you went on about your education. I'm done with you, you have nothing to offer me other than a laugh. Waste of time, maybe for me. Waste of skin, yes for you. You want to come over and see my house dude, if you want to look foolish again I will help you out. Give me your email, I will send you a pic of my house, I will make sure to take it while standing on the green 60 ft. away. You should let it go, you ask me what am I going to do next, tune in and find out. Keep giving me ammo, that is a great idea. What a liar, you lie about going to PSU and then you lie about "top 10 school". If you were so educated you might want to proof read what you post and I am sure you would have caught that top/big ten mistake. Again, I'm not angry or homicidal or anything like that, I AM RABID and your, desperate. Anyway, hit me with your Email and we can put a stop to the diarrhea of the mandible you seem to have. Mispeach, another typo or did PSU let you make up words?

Posted by: Greg Location: SB on Apr 3, 2008 at 03:46 PM
RIF, you had better get back to the fry machine. I think I heard your boss say that your 30 minute lunch was up. BTW, I meant big ten, not top ten. But that was a nice tangent that you went on though for no reason. All that googling for no reason...tsk tsk. What lame thing are you gonna do next? Pick me apart from my mispeach or will it be typographical errors that make you feel like a big man? The caddy shack on a golf course doesn't count as a "house on a golf course" either. Whats most likely a lie? That I attended Penn State, or that you live on a golf course on fast food and caddy wages? There's that maniacal laugh again. Tell your Doc at Madison Center to up your dosages. Burn......I bet someone who actually went to ND would not sound like such a moron. It's obvious that you are getting pretty upset so I will say sayonara before your sobbing ends and turns back into the homicidal anger that you must now feel. See ya at lunch tomorrow...maybe.

Posted by: Rabid Irish Fan Location: Standing Tall on Apr 3, 2008 at 02:38 PM
Yeah, that is what I thought. BTW, I would never serve you fries, my wife does not let animals in the house when we have a BBQ at home. Thats right, a house, on a golf course with my Cadillac in the garage, not too sure your McDonalds wages can get you where I am. Work hard, sling burgers like the king and you might get ahead in life. Nice try with PSU, better luck next time. And don't get so angry, it is just a blog post little guy. Also, Mr. top 10 edu. what is Penn State top 10 in?? Academics?? or what, please tell me what top 10 are they in. Unless you mis-spoke and you meant U of Pennsylvania (ranked #5 by USNews.com as top US Universities) but, no, you said Penn State, uh, dude they are #48 in the US in 2008 and wait, what is that, yup The Univerity of Notre Dame is ranked #19. Should you like to zip it now, smart guy. You are a joke, I bet real PSU grads cringed when they read that crap you put down, nice job, you like beating yourself??? HA HA HA!!!!!Have a nice day, CLOWN!!

Posted by: Greg Location: SB on Apr 3, 2008 at 01:57 PM
I dont need to prove anything to you, RIF. Just like you don't to me. Although, with me it would be a lot easier. I have an education from a top ten school, you have no education whatsoever. But, yeah you win...BIG MAN! And yes, I would like fries with that.

Posted by: ND Fan Location: ND on Apr 3, 2008 at 01:44 PM
Random Observer- my point was, he should not come on the post and tell us how much the Irish suck when his team is no better. I do not go on PSU's blogs and rip them apart. I bet you have never been around Penn State or it's fans, so I don't think you're qualified to tell me who is arrogant. Pride in your team and arrogance are 2 different things, pal. .

Posted by: Rabid Irish Fan Location: Standing Tall on Apr 3, 2008 at 11:08 AM
Random, ever hear, "Don't dip in the mustard if you can't ketchup"(catch up) you are a little late with this one, it is an ongoing argument.

Posted by: Rabid Irish Fan Location: Standing Tall on Apr 3, 2008 at 10:43 AM
ND Fan, did you see my idea as to why Greg "picked" Penn State. I don't belive he went there. This is what he did, looked at last years wins/losses and picked Penn State from that list. He figures if he picks say, USC, OSU, LSU or any other top 10 team, we nail him on it right from the jump. But, pick Penn State who is not that good and beat ND last season and he thinks that is a lock, it was a good attempt but not belivable to me. Actually, he could send me an Email a copy of his degree (trying not to laugh)from Penn State and I would still call him a liar and we all know why...they will and have done the same thing. And I am sure he will defend himself against your "arrogant" comment to him by crying about how I called him out on it and that it really has nothing to do with it so its not his fault you called him arrogant, it is mine, maybe even Charlie Weis was at fault, might as well blame him too.

Posted by: Rabid Irish Fan Location: Standing Tall on Apr 3, 2008 at 10:31 AM
Wait one minute, Greg, you came here accusing Kim and I of being wannabe ND fans and saying we are lesser people because you say we cheer for ND but have no affiliation to the school. Now you want to cry foul when I do the same to you, get real. And no, changing your name would not make you cool, that ship has sailed. What would be really cool is if you try to have an actual debate with us rather than calling us "tards" of insulting us, remember, you started this line of BS with me. Further more I never said you were a liar because you claim Penn State, you are a liar because you claim to have gone there. Yeah, RIF does win and against you, it is a cake walk.

Posted by: Random Observer Location: South Bend on Apr 3, 2008 at 10:28 AM
What does Penn State have to do with Notre Dame on this story? Of course ND has a better record overall than Penn State, but where does someone say that Penn State was better than Notre Dame? Penn State doesn't have near the over arrogance that ND does, nor is it nearly as overrated as ND always is. They are both good schools. ND sucks right now, and frankly hasn't really done anything in over 20 years, but niether has Penn State. But, I dont see Penn State acting or being talked about like they have done anything in the past 20 years either.

Posted by: Greg Location: SB on Apr 3, 2008 at 09:10 AM
I agree, Kimberly. But, I like the ole man. I like how he handles the players. He does a good job keeping them in check. Like with that stunt they pulled last year and him making them clean the stadium after every game. Old school. Well, I dont wanna sound like I am buttering you up. RIF, get a grip man. You really are sounding like you are out of your gourd dude. Oh wait, you have me dialed, right? LOL. Is that what one of the voices in your head told you? So you ask me who my team is (which has no revelance to this story), then you say that I'm a liar. Thats convenient. Either way, RIF wins, right? If thats how you get your jollies out of life, so be it buddy. Do I have to change my name to Rabid Penn State Fan? Would that make me cool?

Posted by: ND Fan Location: ND on Apr 3, 2008 at 09:00 AM
Greg- let me preface by stating I have nothing against PSU. In fact, I even like their colors and mascot. That being said, you display a lot of arrogance in posting here, when a simple internet search shows ND has a higher winning percentage, (A LOT) more national championships, (A LOT) more Heisman winners, and (A LOT) more all americans. So exactly what's your point on your anti-ND rants? Oh, that's right... you kick teams when they're down. You probably abused your pets as a youngster too. Overcompensating, are we?

Posted by: ND Fan Location: ND on Apr 3, 2008 at 08:30 AM
I am here Kimberly. I just don't know how to respond to someone who asks "what was ND's record last year?" and then berates RIF for supplementing that comment with the other TWO seasons... or gets angry when you actually produce facts and not "you're a tard" as their argument. I mean, seriously? I am sure I will get attacked here shortly and the responses will increase. For now, I have to search the archives and find Greg's team because I don't always keep the arguments going on older posts....

Posted by: Kimberly Location: South Bend on Apr 2, 2008 at 07:24 PM
Well, I see the insults are still flying. By the way Greg, did you read my last post in Pro-day? Penn State has only had a few good seasons lately, which is why I made the comment "they are a good ball club", meaning for the last couple of seasons. Prior to that they really did not produce much since the championship in 1986. Joe "Pa" should have retired years ago!

Posted by: Rabid Irish Fan Location: Standing Tall on Apr 2, 2008 at 01:35 PM
Already saw it and as I said before, BS!!! And how are you trying to butter Kimberly up and why, you ripped her before and now you tell another tale and try to pass comliments, you are fooling nobody. I explain why I belive you to be full of it in the other story where you FINALLY "claim" your team, I have you dialed in joker.

Posted by: Greg Location: SB on Apr 2, 2008 at 01:24 PM
Ahhhh...RIF...you seem dumber and dumber to me all the time. Ask Kimberly who my team is. I know she pays attention to what other say, unlike you. Since its so important to you. I have already said it. LOUD AND CLEAR. Funny, I thought this was an ND story though, not college sports teams...
