Pro day for NFL prospects at ND
Not as large a crowd as 2007 when Brady Quinn worked out but an impressive number of NFL folks on hand at Notre Dame Posted: 12:17 AM Mar 20, 2008Reporter: Jeff Jeffers |

Every player who worked out on Wednesday at the Loftus Center for NFL scouts did exactly what they needed to do to improve their stock for the upcoming draft.
Perhaps the biggest mover was John Carlson. The tight end was ill at the Senior Bowl and was still feeling the effects of food poisoning at the NFL Combine in Indy. Now Carlson is healthy and it showed big-time. He ran a 4.67 in the 40-yard dash which is much better than his Indy time and certainly fast enough to move up on the draft charts. Carlson dropped only one ball during his one-hour workout. The two top tight ends in the draft (in addition to Carlson) are Purdue's Dustin Keller and Fred Davis of USC.
Tom Zbikowski looked to be in tremendous shape and is cut from head to toe. We're not talking lacerations here; we're talking tone and lots of
it. One NFL scout said that he would be surprised if Zibby didn't make an NFL roster but isnt' sure where he will go in the draft but he won't be a free agent.
Others working out were long snapper JJ Jansen, linebacker Joe Brockington, running back TRavis Thomas, defensive lineman Trevor Laws, linebacker Dwight Stephenson, and center John Sullivan.
