Westview falls to FW Luers in 2A Semi-State

Westview was hoping to close out the season with 25 straight wins.

That would have given the Warriors the 2A State Championship.

Instead Westview's incredible streak ends at 23 games with a 83-70 loss to FW Luers in the 2A Semi-State at Warsaw High School.

DeShaun Thomas led Luers with 35 points. The 6'7" sophomore guard was nasty, especially in the 3rd quarter.

Ohio State coach Thad Motta was in attendance, liking with his eye on Thomas.

Westview had a great start to the game, taking a 12-3 lead on a Ryan Sindle bucket in the first quarter.

Sindle led Westview with 19 points.

In the closing seconds of the 1st quarter, Justin Yoder would airball a shot, and the outlet pass went to Thomas who dropped in the layup at the buzzer.

In the final minute of the half, Lawrence Barnett converted on a key three point play to give Luers its first lead at 33-32.

The Knights led by 3 at the half.

Thomas that came out strong in the 3rd, pushing the lead to 15 points.

Taylor Aspy scored 13 and Adam Christner added 10 for Westview.

Luers will face Winchester for the 2A State Championship.
