Four local teams battle for Semi-State Saturday

Riley (4a), Plymouth (3a), Westview (2a), and Triton (1a) will all play for Semi-State Saturday afternoon.

Riley will face the Marion Giants at 3:45 at Lafayette Jefferson high school.

A win puts the Wildcats in the state championship for the second time in school history. Their only other apperance came in 1945.

Riley reached Semi-State by beating East Chicago Central at the buzzer in the Regional Championship.

In the first game at Lafayette Jefferson, Triton will face Lafayette Central Catholic at 1pm.

Triton is making the two hour trip while Lafayette Central Catholic will have to travel just one mile.

At Warsaw, Plymouth will play in its four straight Semi-State when they face Harding at 3pm.

The defending 3A State Champions are looking to return to Conseco Field House for the third time in four years.

The Warriors have won 23 games in a row with their only loss coming in the 2nd game of the season back in November.
