The 78th annual Bengal Bouts came to a close as amateur boxes practiced the sweet science to aid the Holy Cross mission in Bangla Desh.
The Bouts were the creation of the late, great Dominick J. "Nappy" Napolitano who spent his entire adult life at Notre Dame as an instructior and staff member. Napolitano got the idea for the event from a former football coach named Knute Rockne who had begun a boxing club at the school.
