Indiana Girls Semi-State set for Saturday

Defending state champion Washington will look to reach the state finals for the third consecutive season Saturday at 3pm at North Side Gym when they face Fort Wayne South.

Led by the state's best player, junior Skylar Diggins, the Panthers defeated the Archers earlier this season.

FW South does hold a very significant win over Washington, however. The Archers are the last Indiana team to beat the Panthers. That came in the 1st game of last season.

Washington has lost two games this season, but both came in games out of state against teams from Kentucky and Illinois.

Highlights at 6pm on Newscenter 16 on Saturday.
At Plymouth, the Pilgrims will host Wawasee in 3A's Semi-State.

Plymouth is making its 2nd Semi-State appearance in school history. The previous came in 2001.

Wawasee is the defending semi-state champions.

The Pilgrims and Warriors are both members of the Northern Lakes Conference.

The Warriors won the regular season meeting 58-40, but that game was played at Wawasee.

The Warriors are on a major roll having won 11 straight games. They are 23-2 this season.

Plymouth is 20-4 and enters the game with a 6-game win streak.

Tipoff at Plymouth High School is 3pm on Saturday. Highlights on Newscenter 16 at 6.
