Austin Carr, with tears flowing, acknowledged the crowd at the Joyce Center on Thursday as he was recognized for his sterling career and recent induction to the College BAsketball Hall of Fame.
One of the greatest offensive players in the history of the college game, Carr was responsbile for the upsurge in Irish hoops that continued through the Phelps era and is again soaring.
Carr said that it was his greatest moment ever as he thanked Irish fans who were on their feet to salute number 34.
Carr is currenlty the director of community relations for the Cleveland Cavaliers and is a member of the Cavs broadcast team.
