ND pushes Rutgers to the final minutes in Jersey

Charel Allen had 18 points as Notre Dame battled Rutgers for a full 40 minutes but fell on the road Tuesday, 57-51.

Notre Dame was down by eight near the end of the first half but rallied to tie the game with an 8-0 to close the half.

The teams went back and forth with neither gaining a decided edge due to really cold shooting from the field for both teams.

A three-point play by Ephiphany Prince gave Rutgers the lead for good as she scored by slipping inisde the Irish defense on an inbounds play.

Next up for the Irish is a trip to Chicago this weekend to face DePaul.
