IU's dynamic duo too much for Purdue

Kelvin Sampson may be gone as the IU head coach on Friday but you can't say his team has lost any focus during the controversy. The Hoosiers defeated Purdue on Tuesday, 77-68.

Friday will mark the day that athletics director Rick Greenspan will announce his findings after being ordered by the university to investigate the NCAA allegations against Sampson.

But on Tuesday, it was all basketball as Eric Gordon scored 22 and DJ White had 19 to go along with 15 boards as the Hoosiers countered every run by Purdue to get the win. White, who was battling a knee injury, was dominant inside as the Boilers had no answers for the big guy.

The freshmen duo from Valpo of Robbie Hummel and Scott Martin played very well for Purdue. Hummel had 17 and Martin 12 for Purdue.

One interesting stat was that IU had 23 turnovers while the Boilers had only five.

Purdue, IU and Wisconsin all now have three losses in Big 10 play
