Defending state champion Oregon-Davis loses in Regionals

The streak is over.

And so is Oregon-Davis' season.

The Bobcats lost their first game since December 5, 2006 Saturday afternoon in the Regional semifinals to Fort Wayne Canterbury 49-43.

Since that loss 14 months ago, Oregon-Davis had won 43 consecutive games, including the 1A state championship last March.

The Bobcats end their season with a 24-1 record.

Canterbury led 16-9 in the 2nd quarter, when O-D went on a 12-0 run that spilled into the 3rd quarter. The Bobcats led 31-22 heading to the 4th.

But Canterbury regained the lead with a 14-2 run to start the 4th.

With the score 36-33, Aubrey Minix tied it back up for O-D with a huge three pointer.

But Canterbury scored the next six points and never looked back.
