Roundball Roundup: State champs repeat as Sectional Champs

Make it five Sectional Championships in a row for South Bend Washington.

Skylar Diggins scored 26 and Takoia Larry added 15 as the defending 4a state champions cruised to a 70-33 win over Riley in the 4a Washington Sectional finals.

Washington improves to 20-2 on the season, with neither loss coming to an Indiana team.

Riley ends it season with a 3-20 record. Ashlin Sanders led the way for the Wildcats with 15 points.

Washington advances to the Valpo Regional. The Panthers will meet Michigan City at 10:30am (est) next Saturday.

The winner will advance to the Regional Final next Saturday night and face either Elkhart Memorial or Gary West Side.

Memorial and Gary West Side will battle at 12:30 (est).

Memorial advanced to Regionals with a 51-38 win over Warsaw in the Goshen Sectional finals.

Akyah Taylor and Nicci Desimone each scored 17 points to lead the Chargers.

Kelci Freds scored 13 for Warsaw.
In 3a, Plymouth completely dominated at the New Prairie Sectional.

After defeating Rochester 71-15 in Friday's Sectional Semis, the Pilgrims walked over Marian 74-22 in the Sectional finals on Saturday night.

Plymouth advances to the Rensselaer Central Regional and will face Hammond at 11am (est) next Saturday. The winner will face either Northwestern or Calumet.
In 3a's other local Sectional, Wawasee beat Whitko 42-26 at the Northwood Sectional Championship.

The state runner-up Warriors advance to the Peru Regional and will face Eastbrook at 10am next Saturday. The winner will face either Leo or Fort Wayne Elmhurst.
In 2a, Sarah DeShone scored 14 points as Jimtown defeated Bremen 39-26 repeat as Sectional Champions.

Its first time in school history, a Jimmies basketball team has won Sectionals two years in a row.

The 2a state runner-ups are now 21-1 on the season.

Jimtown advances to the Culver Community Regional and will face Boone Grove at 12:30 next Saturday. The winner faces Hanover Central or Garrett in Saturday night's Regional final.
In 1a, defending state champion Oregon-Davis defeated South Central 59-45 to win sectionals on its home floor.

The Bobcats are still undefeated on the season.

O-D advances to the Caston Regional and will face Fort Wayne Canterbury at 12:30 next Saturday. The winner faces either West Central or Kouts.
