Over the past two seasons, Elkhart Central has had one of the best boys soccer teams in the area.
The Blazers reached State in 2006 and semi-state in 2007.
Two of the main reasons were goalie Justin Holmes and midfielder Ruben Garrido.
Now both stars will continue playing the sport they love at the Division I level.
On Wednesday, Holmes signed his letter of intent to play at New Mexico while Garrido officially committed to West Virginia.
A four-year starter for the Blazers, Garrido will head to a team that reached the NCAA Sweet 16 this year.
"They have a great program," Garrido said on Wednesday. "I like the way their coaches think and their theory of soccer."
"Their campus is beautiful, everything just fell into place."
Garrido, who scored more than 30 goals for the Blazers in his career, is hoping to make an impact right away. Two key midfielders are graduating for the Mountaineers.
For Holmes, a 3-year starter, he too will head to a major program. New Mexico reached the national championship two years ago.
"I talked to the coaches and an assistant coach at Notre Dame used to be an assistant at New Mexico so I had good ties there," Holmes explained.
Rodney Dale also committed to Division II Mercyhurst to play cornerback for the football team.
