Roger Clemens is scheduled to speak under oath to congressional lawyers for the first time today about allegations that he used steroids and human growth hormone.
The seven-time Cy Young Award winner is slated to give a closed-door deposition a day after former teammate and workout partner Andy Pettitte delivered sworn testimony on Capitol Hill.
The interviews are in preparation for a public hearing next week. The hearing is expected to focus on allegations made by a former trainer who claims he injected Clemens with performance-enhancing drugs.
Clemens insists that he was only injected with vitamins and painkillers.
A lawyer for Clemens says the pitcher won't take the Fifth Amendment today and will "answer the committee's questions truthfully."
