Mike Brey's Irish have won three straight games and are 6-2 in the Big East.
That's good for second place in the hardest conference in the country.
So are the Irish poised to crack the top 25 when the latest polls are released on Monday?
"Probably," head coach Mike Brey said following Notre Dame's 89-80 win over DePaul on Saturday night. "I would expect so."
"But again, I'll take it or leave it, "Brey explained. "If we are great, if not... I think our guys are like that too."
The players agree they don't worry about it.
"It seems like nobody shows us love, but we know where we are, we know what kind of team we are," sophomore guard Tory Jackson says.
"Rankings or not, we're not worried about that. We're just going to continue playing basketball."
The Irish are virtually unbeatable at home. Their two wins this week pushed the Joyce Center win streak to 33 games. Even more impressive---Notre Dame has won 14 straight at home against Big East competition.
Whether they get into the top 25 or not, the Irish do feel they belong in the top 25.
"I think at 6-2 people will recognize how well we are playing," senior captain Rob Kurz says. "If we don't, no big deal. It would give us something to play for. Put a chip on our shoulder."
"I think we've earned it quite frankly," Brey said. "But if we don't get it, nobody is losing sleep here."
That's because the Irish have to get ready for their next game---on the road Wednesday at Seton Hall.
