Dave Cox retiring after 20 years as girls hoops coach at Plymouth
Dave Cox is stepping aside after 20 years at the helm of the Plymouth Lady Pilgrims, leaving as the school's all-time winningiest girls hoops coach with 308 wins.

One of the great area girls basketball coaches is retiring.

Dave Cox is stepping aside after 20 years at the helm of the Plymouth Lady Pilgrims, leaving as the school's all-time winningiest girls hoops coach with 308 wins.

Cox led Plymouth to a state championship in 2008, where he was named the ICGSA 3A State Coach of the Year.

The Pilgrims were also runner up in 2001, won nine sectional championships, four NLC championships and three regional titles.

Prior to hire as head girls’ coach at Plymouth High School, Cox spent a combined 6 years in the Triton, Caston and Plymouth feeder systems. Coach Cox initiated a Plymouth indoor / outdoor summer league basketball program in 1993 that grew to over 85 teams / 874 participants across Northern Indiana.
