Tubby Smith has always been a winner as a college hoops caoch and it's happening again at Minnesota. IU nearly found out the hard way Thursday but the Hoosiers depth paid off in a 65-60 win.
IU didn't have Eric Gordon for much of the first half due to foul trouble but a 17-0 spurt at the end of the half was enough to give IU the edge at halftime.
In the second half, IU survived nearly an eight-minute scoring drought but got a key three-point goal by Lance Stemler that wiped out a two-point deficit to a one-point edge.
IU is now 15-1 on the season
