Irish Icers can get revenge Friday night

Last year, Michigan State defeated Notre Dame in the NCAA Tournament and went on to the win the National Championship.

Friday night, the Irish Icers have their chance for revenge in East Lansing.

6th ranked Notre Dame will meet 9th ranked Michigan State for the first time since last year's NCAA tourney clash.

Irish head coach Jeff Jackson says he hasn't focused on last year's game with his players.

"I think any time you are playing a team you are in the hunt with for the the top 4 spots in the league, you know it's going to be a big series," Jackson said.

"I don't think we need to worry about last year as motivation to play them. I think it's more about this year's team."

Notre Dame is tied for 1st in the CCHA with Michigan and Miami. Michigan State is just three points behind.

The two will also meet in South Bend on Sunday at 4pm at the Joyce Center.
