Daughter of Mishawaka coaching legend to become Volleyball coach

Susan Smith was an outstanding volleyball player at Mishawka High School.

Her dad, Al, was an outstanding coach (wrestling) at Mishawaka High School.

Only seems right that Susan's first head coaching job comes at Mishawaka.

The 1992 graduate will be named the school's new volleyball coach at Tuesday's school board meeting.

"I am thrilled to have been asked to return to lead the MHS volleyball program," Smith said in a press release issued by the school.

"I look forward to a bright future for the MHS volleyball."

Smith will inherit a program that won a sectional championship in 2007 and lost to eventually state runner-up Elkhart Memorial in Regionals.
