Bart Curtis to be named Mishawaka Football Coach

Mishawaka finally has their man.

Bart Curtis will leave New Prairie after 10 consecutive winning season to become the new Cavemen football coach.

Curtis' appointment will become offcially at Tuesday's Mishawaka School Board Meeting.

"I am honored and privileged to become the head football coach in the tradition-rich Mishawka football program and I take this responsibility very seriously," Curtis said in a press release issued by the school district.

"We have loved our time at New Prairie, but look forward to becoming a part of the Mishawaka community."

Curtis was 84-38 at New Prairie, leading the Cougars to the 3-A Semi-State game in 2004.

Curtis will take over for Jim Aldrich, who stepped down following the 2007 season to become Mishawaka's Assistant Athletic Director.
