Muffet's Squad falls to #3 Tennessee

The nation's best player Candace Parker scored 20 and freshman Angie Bjorklund led the way with 21 as 3rd-ranked Tennessee defeated Notre Dame 87-63 at the Joyce Center Saturday afternoon.

The 14th ranked Irish drop to 12-2 with the loss and see their 10 game winning streak come to an end.

Notre Dame trailed 41-22 at the half, mainly because of the play of Bjorklund. She hit 4 from beyond the arc in the first 20 minutes and finished 7 of 9 from the land of three.

The game was played in front of a capacity crowd. It was the 4th sellout ever in Irish women's basketball history.

Charel Allen led the way for ND with 17. Freshman Devereaux Peters had 10 points and 8 rebounds.
