Irish shoot for 2-0 Big East start against UConn

Coming off a 13-point win over West Virginia, Mike Brey's Irish will host UConn Saturday night at the Joyce Center.

The Irish, winners of ninth in a row, are shooting for their 30th straight victory at home.

It will be the fourth game in eight days for Notre Dame.

Sophomore Luke Harangody led the way for the Irish against the Mountaineers. Harangody posted career highs in points (29) and rebounds (16).

He played a very physical game against WVU. He will have a tougher matchup against the Huskies.

UConn, coming off a 12-point road win over Seton Hall, plays a very physical game itself.

Brey believes as tough as the Big East opener was, Saturday will be even harder because of the stretch the Irish have been through.

Tipoff is 9pm Saturday at the Joyce Center.
