When Joe Tiller came to Purdue in 1997, he was told his high-octane offense would never work in the grind-it-out-on-the-ground Big Ten.
Luckily for both the Boilermakers and their Motor City Bowl opponents, Tiller didn't pay any attention.
Wednesday night, Purdue will play its tenth bowl game in eleven years -- facing back-to-back Mid-American Conference champion Central Michigan. Kickoff is at 7:30 at Ford Field in Detroit.
The Chippewas also use the spread offense.
When the two teams met in September, the Boilermakers won 45-22. The teams combined for 1,048 yards of offense, including 724 in the air.
