Dick Vitale will not be broadcasting until February after having surgery on Tuesday in Boston. Doctors found ulcerations on one of Vitale's vocal cords and performed a procedure that was termed "very successful."
Vitale, who has been with ESPN since 1979, has never missed a college hoops assignment in his tenure. He's also been a fixture in helping to raise money for a variety of charities include the Jimmy V fund.
Vitale will still had his comments on college basketball games via the ESPN website
