Petrino leaves Atlanta, takes over at Arkansas

Bobby Petrino decided that the NFL was not his cup of tea so he bolted the ATlanta Falcons to become the head coach at the University of Arkansas.

Petrino, who's Falcons lost to New Orleans on Monday, told owner Arthur Blank that he'd had enough and that the Falcons would not have to play Petrino any compensation for the time left on his contract.

Petrino was in Atlanta for less than a season as the Falcons were 3-10.

The situation was almost exactly what happened in 1976 when Lou Holtz was 3-10 with the New York Jets but left during the season to take over from Frank Broyles at Arkansas
