Last year, Notre Dame was taken to overtime by Bowling Green before the Irish prevailed at the Joyce Center.
On Wednesday, it was almost a carbon copy as the Falcons played their biggest regular season game in history as the Irish provided the opposition. The game went overtime as ND won by two on a jumper by Charel Allen. The victory moves the Irish to a 7-1 record on the season.
ND had a 10-point lead in the first half but the Falcons cut it to a two-point game at halftime. In the second half, the Irish enjoyed another double digit lead but BG sent the game to overtime.
With :08 remaining, Allen hit a 17-footer for the winner. She had 17 points as did Lindsay Schrader. The Irish now move on to face Purdue Saturday at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette.
The Irish had five players in double figures as ND is now 4-1 on December 5th in the tenure of Muffet McGraw which happens to be the birthday of the Irish head coach
