A member of the Purdue hockey team is dead, and seven others are hurt.

A van carrying the hockey team rolled over on an icy highway Saturday afternoon. The accident happened about 20-miles southwest of West Lafayette, near the town of Wingate.

Purdue officials say 18-year-old Andrew Jackson, from Minnesota, was killed in the accident.

They say none of the seven other students were seriously hurt. Those team members were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for broken bones and cuts. They have since been released.
