The Chicago Bears roared back with two late touchdowns in the final five and a-half minutes of regulation before Robbie Gould's game-winning 39-yard field goal in overtime gave the the defending NFC champions a 37-34 victory over the Denver Broncos.
After winning the coin toss to start overtime, the Bears drove from their 24 to the Denver 18. Gould delivered the game-winner with less than four minutes into OT.
Special teams superstar Devin Hester was the big reason the Bears were even within striking distance. With the Bears trailing 13-6 starting the second half, Hester delivered a 75-yard punt return to tie the game. He then put the Bears ahead with an 88-yard kickoff return.
Hester has 11 returns for touchdowns in his 27-game NFL career.
The 5-and-6 Bears still have wild-card hopes in the NFC. The loss drops the 5-and-6 Broncos one game back of San Diego in the AFC West.
