Jimmie Johnson took the checkered flag in the Nextel Cup race at the Phoenix International Raceway to take a commanding lead in the Chase for the Championship standings.
With one race remaining, next week in Florida, Johnson leads Jeff Gordon by 86-points. Following the race, Gordon was heard to say, "it's over, it's over.
Gordon finished 10th in the Phoenix race.
Ryan Newman finished 5th, David Stremme 20th, and Tony Raines 37th.
