Marian V-Ball headed back to State

The Marian girls volleyball team is ranked 1st in Indiana in 3A.

Saturday, they can solidify that ranking.

The Knights have dominated opponents and head into Saturday's Semi-State against Jasper with a 34-4 record.

Marian reached the state finals a year ago, and also played at state in 1999.

The Knights last won state in volleyball in 1973.

Marian defeated Andrean in 3 games to win the Twin Lakes Regional last weekend.

Brebeuf Jesuit (26-9) faces Bellmont (31-5) in the first Semi-State Game at Muncie Central High School at 9am on Saturday.

Marian and Jasper (26-10) will follow.

The finals are set for Saturday night at 6pm at Worthen Arena at Ball State.
In 4A, Elkhart Memorial looks to ride the momentum of its Regional Championship against Carmel.

The Chargers trailed two games to none against LaPorte last Saturday before winning three straight games to advance to the Semi-State.

New Castle (31-7) and Floyd Central (29-8) will meet at 9AM at Yorktown High School.

The Chargers (35-3) and Carmel (29-8) will follow.

The 4A State Finals are set for 8:10pm at Worthen Arena at Ball State.
In 2A, Fairfield (34-4) will face Muncie Burris (35-3) in the Semi-State.

The match will follow Brownstown Central (31-5) and Woodlan (29-8), which is set for 9am at Delta High School.

The 2A Championship is set for 4:15pm at Worthen Arena at Ball State.
