Trailing 4-0, the Penn girls soccer team almost made a remarkable comeback in the state finals against Indy Cathedral before losing 4-2 in Indianapolis Saturday night.
Penn reached the finals with a 1-0 win over Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger earlier in the day.
Senior Ashley Sill broke a scoreless tie with a goal off the post with 9 minutes left in the game to give the Kingsmen a 1-0 win over two-time defending state champion.
Senior goalie Emily Johnson recorded her 15th shutout of the season for Penn.
The Kingsmen have never won state before in girls soccer.
Penn finishes its season with a 21-3 record.

Meanwhile, the Goshen boys saw their season come to an end in the first game at state.
Goshen fell to Evansville Memorial 2-0.
Zack Braddock scored a goal 20 minutes into the game to give Evansville a 1-0 lead. They added a late goal for insurance.
Goshen's season ends with a 17-3-3 record.
