USC head coach Pete Carroll told NewsCenter 16's Angelo Di Carlo that Mark Sanchez will get the start at quarterback against Notre Dame on Saturday.
"Mark Sanchez is going to go and give us the start," Carroll said after USC's walk thru practice at Notre Dame Stadium on Friday. "He's had all the preparation for two weeks and he's ready to play a good football game for us."
The regular starter, John David Booty, broke his finger against Stanford two weeks ago and will be available.
"He's doing fine," Carroll said. "He threw the ball very well this week and is ready to play if we need him to."
"Of course, he has a broken finger and you know it's not going to heal in two weeks but he can play the football game if we need him."
Sanchez got the start against Arizona. He was not impressive in terms of statistics but did lead SC to the win over the Wildcats.
