It has been a banner season thus far for the St. Joseph Bears.
Two weeks ago, the Bears defeated arch-rival Lakeshore for the first time in 17 years. They are a perfect 7-0 so far this season.
Apparently winning is contangious in St. Joseph.
This week, St. Joe became the first school to ever win two Spirit Awards in one season.

"I think it's great for all our players, our community and the school," head coach Elliot Uzelac said on Thursday.
"I just can't imagine a better way to start a school year than to have a football team go out there and represent you the way our kids have represented St. Joe High School," Uzelac explained.
"I'm very proud of them and I know the community is also."
With two games left in the regular season, the Bears are looking to finish a regular season undefeated for the first time since 1988.
That year, St. Joe didn't lose a game until the Michigan State Championship.
St. Joe is on the road at Mattawan on Friday.
