FNF Week 7: Penn survives scare

Penn hasn't lost a Northern Indiana Conference game since the 1980s.

Mishawaka lost to then 2-3 Marian last week.

So not many were giving the Cavemen a shot against the Kingsmen heading into Friday night's game at Steel Stadium.

But boy did Mishawaka give Penn everything they had.

With the Kingsmen up 20-13 late in the game, Mishawaka drove down field.

With one last attempt to tie it up, Kyle Heatherly threw up a pass to the endzone that came into the hands of Ryan Warmoth, but Warmoth was immediately drilled and lost the ball. The play was ruled incomplete.

Video replay shows Warmoth held onto the ball for just 1/3 of a second.

Penn remains undefeated with the 20-13 win.
For the 2nd week in a row, Marian pulled off an upset. Maybe these aren't upsets much longer.

The Knights ended Elkhart Central's undefeated record in the NIC with a 31-10 win.
And what a Pizza Hut Spotlight Game of the week between Warsaw and Wawasee.

The Tigers took a 7-0 lead into halftime.

It was a defensive battle from there with Wawasee forcing overtime.

This game went three overtimes before Warsaw prevailed 28-27.
In Michigan, St. Joe did something they haven't done in 17 years.

Beat Lakeshore.

The Bears are still undefeated after a 21-3 win over their arch rival.
Coloma is also still undefeated in Michigan.

The Comets rolled over Buchanan 43-20 Friday night.
Back in Indiana, 2A's top ranked team, Jimtown, had no problems with Culver.

The Jimmies are now 7-0 with a 41-6 win.
