Irish need Armando versus Purdue

So far in 2007, The Irish have scored 27 points. Purdue, meanwhile, is averaging 48.5 points per game.

Clearly, Notre Dame needs to score a lot more points on Saturday to beat the Boilermakers.

One of the players they will need a big game out of is freshman Armando Allen.

The Frosh is second on the team in both rushing and receiving.

"The excitement for me comes when I walk in the locker room everyday and I see everybody still with this positive attitude," Allen says.

"That's where I get my excitement because I love to be affiliated with positive people. Just to walk in here and experience that is overwhelming for me."

"Every freshman comes here with the thought that they just want to get on the field, and pretty much a lot of us are getting on the field," Allen explains.

"But when you look at the overall view, we're not winning right now. The key is to come here each week and do what we can, practice hard, so we can finally get things on the right track."
