Blazers ready for Marian

Elkhart Central has a big game next week against Penn.

The two are the last two unbeaten teams in the NIC, but the Blazers knows they cannot look ahead to that matchup.

Otherwise they could fall victim to Marian, a team that surprised Mishawaka last Friday.

"Marian is a very good football team," Blazers coach Mark Hummel says. "They're well-coached and they get after it very well. They're tough-nosed kids and they fight at it hard."

"So there is no way we can look past any ball game."

"We've learned to work harder, play harder, and practice harder and that's where we win most of games -- at practice," senior quarterback Chris Roberson explains.

"It's been real exciting to be undefeated in the conference and just to be out here. High school football is great and a great atmosphere to be in."
